Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The British chain Castorama, specialised in the retail of building materials, announced that it will create 110 jobs at its new store in Włocławek, Poland. The store, located on 7,300 square meters, has been launched in late February 2020.
Castorama Poland is a part of the multinational company Kingfisher which has about 1,200 stores in 10 European countries. The company has been operating in Poland since 1994, and it has 80 stores across the country. In 2018, the company announced two expansions: in April (300 new jobs) and July (125 new jobs). In 2019, Castorama announced two business expansions: in March (145 jobs in Elbląg) and May (150 jobs in Bydgoszcz).
