Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Krka from Novo Mesto, the leading generic pharmaceutical company worldwide, announced that the company plans to expand its workforce by three percent or 369 workers this year. As the chief executive director of Krka company explained, last year Krka achieved a record income and 39 per cent growth of profits. The company plans to invest €134 million in the extension of production capacity for which it will need more workers. It normally increases its workforce by about 300 workers every year. At the end of 2019, it employed 5,997 people in Slovenia (predominantly at the location in Novo Mesto). Globally, the company employs about 12,000 people.
