Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The British chemical company Matthey Poland has announced that it will create 400 new production jobs at its new catalyst facility in Gliwice. The plant, located in the Katowice Special Economic Zone, Poland, is expected to be launched in April 2020. The company has invested about PLN 450 million (€104.31 million as at 26 February 2020) in the factory with two production lines. The plant will specialize in the production of catalysts for various types of engines.
Johnson Matthey is one of the largest European suppliers of catalysts and Lithium-ion battery systems. The company has been operating in Gliwice since 1999; currently, the company has a plant in Gliwice specializing in the production of lithium-ion batteries.
