Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Bilfinger Maschinenbau, a company engaged in machinery and plant engineering, has announced the cut of up to 100 jobs in their production plant in Linz. The reason for the internal restructuring is the search for potential buyers of the company. The job reduction will start in the third quarter of 2020. The negotiations for a redundancy plan have started already.
The company belongs to the german Bilfinger SE Group, with a total of 35.905 employees and a turnover of €4,153 billion as of 2018.
