Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Japanese company Toshiba Carrier announced it will create about 100 jobs at its new air conditioning factory and distribution centre in Gniezno, Poland. The company will be looking for mainly control and mechatronics specialists. Toshiba plans to invest PLN 100 million (€23 million as at 17 February 2020) in the project. The factory, located in the Kostrzyn-Słubice Special Economic Zone, is expected to be operational by the end of 2020. The first European Toshiba unit will specialise in the production of air conditioners, refrigeration systems, fans and compressors.
