Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
La Halle, a brand of the Vivarte group specialised in the sale of footwear, has presented a new plan to reorganise its activities which provides 101 job cuts in total, 63 of which are located at its headquarters at Paris (75) and 38 at its logistics warehouse at Issoudun (Indre). The plan concerns a project to overhaul the company and optimise its logistics and head office activities and does not concern its network of stores. The reorganisation will also create 19 jobs.
The Vivarte group has undergone major restructuring in the last two years, leading to the closure of several stores and shoe brands. A former restructuring of the Vivarte group was announced in 2015 (1,481 job cuts).
