European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Sibeg, a company that bottles Coca-Cola branded drinks in Italy, announced at least 151 dismissals at its Catania plant which will be taking place from October 2020 to spring 2021.
The decision is connected to raising prices of soft drinks and to the expected reduction in turnover linked to the government's decision to introduce a plastic and sugar tax in the budgetary law.
The company also ventilated the possibility that the Italian production facility will be closed down altogether and the whole production be moved to Albania.
