Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Frozen food manufacturing company Iglotex announced that it plans to close its production facility in Grudziądz and as a result up to 200 jobs will be cut. It is expected that the factory will close in June 2020. The decision is associated with the company’s plan to reorganise the operational structure to improve the efficiency – Inglotex is to consolidate the production in its three factories (a new factory in Skórcz and two in Tarnów).
Operational for over 30 years, the company is a leading producer of frozen foods in Poland. The company has a nationwide distribution structure, with 25 distribution centres, and three production facilities located in Grudziądz and Tarnów. The company sells its products in over 30 countries worldwide. The factory in Grudziądz, founded in 2007, specialises in the production of frozen fruits and vegetables.
