Nolato Jaycare, a UK-based company which produces medical packaging in two locations in England, has announced that it will close its factory plant in Portsmouth by December 2020, making 115 employees redundant. A representative of the company said that it will move production from Portsmouth to its advanced plant in Newcastle, in the North of England to increase efficiency and returns. The company has stated that it would support the affected employees in finding new employment opportunities.
Nolato Jaycare is owned by Sweden-based Nolato Group. The factory in Portsmouth produced medicine bottles – it was acquired by Nolato in 2012.
