Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The UK-based food retailer Co-op has announced the opening of 30 new shops across the country by the end of December 2019, creating up to 500 new employment opportunities. The expansion is part of a major investment in the food retail arm of the Co-op. The new shops will open in transport hubs, key city locations and residential areas.
The Co-op Group is the largest consumer co-operative in the UK - founded in 1844, it is currently owned by more than 4.5 million members. The Group runs a variety of retail businesses including food retail, as well as insurance, legal and funeral services.
