Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Acoustic, an independent marketing cloud with a focus on the marketers, announced that it will create 250 jobs at its new research and development centre in Gdańsk, Poland, within the next 2 years. Acoustic will employ a variety of high-tech specialists - front and back end developers, UI/UX designers, architects, infrastructure specialists and managers. The facility will also have a support team for customers. The team will include several data specialists, support analysts and procurement experts. The centre will focus on providing advanced, AI-driven solutions to meet current challenges in the marketing industry.
The investment was supported by Invest in Pomerania, a regional initiative that helps investors implement projects in the Pomeranian region. Acoustic was separated from IBM in summer 2019. The company's solutions are powered by artificial intelligence tools and offer digital and mobile marketing analytics, tools for marketing automation and content management to more than 3,500 brands spanning industry sectors from more than 70 countries.
