Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Commercial Court of Chambéry rejected the offers to take over the Mignola Carrelages group and decided to liquidate the company by court order. This decision results in the elimination of 140 jobs in four companies based in Challes-les-Eaux (Savoie). The family group, which presents itself as the second largest national tiling specialist, was placed in receivership on 14 October. The company had achieved a turnover of €27 million in 2018. And it had an order book of €32 million a year ago. However, at the same time, Mignola Carrelages had to face delays on three key sites, causing cash flow difficulties, followed by periods of technical unemployment and financial losses.
