Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The biotechnology company Qiagen announced its plans to create 200 additional jobs at its business services centre in Wrocław, in 2020. The company has just expanded its Wrocław-based office by 1,500 square meters.
The company provides sample and assay technologies for molecular diagnostics, applied testing, academic and pharmaceutical research. In Wrocław, the company has been operating since 2012 and currently employs 500 people in the city. The centre specialises in accounting services, financial control, customer service, logistics, HR operations, marketing and IT programming.
Qiagen was established in Germany in 1984. Today the company operates in 25 countries and employs over 5,000 people worldwide.
