Description
Eurest, a leading caterer with 450 chain stores in Germany, announced 500 job cuts out of a total 6,000 jobs in Germany. The cuts will affect stores, administration, and the management. The company argues that for staying competitive it will slimline its current businesses an, at the same time, upgrade the style of its stores and services. The restructuring and job cuts programme shall last until 2021. A social plan has been settled with the works council. An unknown number of jobs will be cut via natural fluctuation and early retirement, the remaining ones by direct dismissals.
The Compass Group provides services to most of the listed DAC-corporations.
