Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Western Union, a company operating in international money transfer services, is expanding its activities in Lithuania and will create around 300 new jobs in the European Regional Operational Centre in Vilnius over the next 18 months. The company is implementing a new global strategy aimed at meeting increasing demand from global consumers and businesses for fast and reliable cross-border money transfer and payment solutions. Western Union intends to hire specialists with skillsets in digital business and cross-border platform expansion, intelligent automation, finance and accounting, compliance operations and other functions. Currently the company employs 1,849 employees in Vilnius.
Western Union was established in Vilnius in 2010 and its site in Vilnius is the largest company’s site worldwide.
