Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Commercial Court of Agen has decided to liquidate the Garrigues industrial joinery at Colayrac-Saint-Cirq, near Agen (Lot-et-Garonne). The liquidation will result in 180 job cuts in the three companies forming the Garrigues group: Garrigues SA, Garrigues THM and Axitech. The court granted a continuation of activity until Thursday 17 October for the first two, until 31 October for the last.
Garrigues, which has a deficit of €39 million, was placed in safeguard proceedings in February, before going into receivership at the end of June. The court dismissed an offer of takeover that it considered insufficient.
