Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Accountancy group EY has announced a business expansion, creating 136 new jobs in Belfast. The current operation growth is part of a larger expansion across the island of Ireland, which will result in the creation of 600 in total. Most of the jobs will be in the company's traditional areas of tax and accounting, but the company will also introduce operation in the areas of automatisation, artificial intelligence and robotics. It has not been reported when the jobs are expected to be filled.
The firm currently employs 520 people in the city, following a previous expansion in 2018.
