Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Catalent, a US-owned pharmaceutical company, has announced plans to create 100 new jobs as it expands its site in Swindon. The jobs will be supported by an investment of GBP 27 million (€31 million as at 6 October 2019), which will introduce new technology to increase production capacity. The business specialises in manufacturing tablets, which can be taken without the aid of water and does pharmaceutical testing for other UK and international companies.
Currently, the company employees 650 people.
