Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Professional services group Ernst & Young (EY) is hiring 477 people in the Republic of Ireland, over the next year. While some roles are in the traditional service areas of tax, audit, consultancy and corporate accounting, EY is also recruiting technology specialists, robotics and AI engineers and data scientists. The majority of the advertised positions (363) are directed at recent graduates, but the company also searches for people with working experience. Most of the new jobs will be based in Dublin (366), however there are 55 available vacancies in Cork and around 43 open positions for EY's offices in Galway, Waterford and Limerick.
The EY's headcount in Ireland will reach 3,700 when the vacancies are filled. Currently, company's offices are located in 10 cities across the country.
