Description

Pharmaceutical company Lek from Ljubljana, a subsidiary of Swiss-based Sandoz group, will cease antibiotic production at its Prevalje plant by late 2021. The production will be offshored to Kundl in Austria, so 250 employees and 70 agency workers will lose their jobs. The site will have a new role as Novartis plans to set up a centre for global operations in Slovenia, carrying out logistics, supply chain, purchasing, quality control, production science, technology and engineering. Novartis has ensured that all employees will be able to requalify.
