Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Call centre and support services company Emerald Contact Centre announced the creation of 200 new jobs in its Waterford base. The job creation aims at recruiting agents speaking English, Spanish, Portuguese, German or French. The first 50 employees are expected to be hired by the end of 2019, with the remaining 150 due to be hired by 2021. The job creation is a measure supported by IDA Ireland.
The company provides customer care and sales support to global financial, health and travel publications. Established in 2015, it is a sister company of US-based TCC Maryland.
