Supermarket chain Morrisons announced the closure of four among its stores. The decision implies the loss of more than 400 jobs, and it follows a performance review of all 494 company outlets. The affected stores are based in Crawley, Ince-in-Makerfield, Shirley (West Midlands) and Swindon. The decision is now subject to the statutory consultation period, throughout which the company intends to assess measures for the reduction of redundancies and for the staff redeployment where possible, according to the company's spokesperson.
