Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Danish multinational producer of enzymes, Novozymes, informed on 28 August 2019 that 123 employees are to be dismissed in Denmark out of the total 330 redundancies at global level with the aim to make capital available for new investments for the company. Novozymes informs in the press release that dismissals 'will happen across divisions, functions and regions and in accordance with local processes and requirements. In addition, a number of employees will be transferred to new roles inside the company'. One of the reasons for a negative growth in the first half of 2019 is that American agriculture customers have been affected by floods.
