Description
The French Minister of Action and Public Accounts, has announced to the five representative trade union organisations a 'total reduction' in the Ministry's workforce of around 5,800 jobs over the three years between 2020 and 2022. According to the Minister, the decision is the consequence of the implementation of major transformations aimed at simplifying the lives of the French, such as the levy at source or the abolition of small taxes. Several trade union organisations have announced a strike day on 16 September to protest against this announcement. They argue that the tax suppression has not reduced the number of of tasks that employees have to do.
