Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Siliko, the development supplier and manufacturer of technical products made of elastomers and thermoplastics, plans to hire 56 workers by the end of the year. The company supplies predominantly German automotive and home appliance industry. The management says that most of the new employments are due to a new contract with BMW. The company has already employed 64 persons, of which 30 are production workers, so the total annual increase in new employments will be 120. Months before the announcement, the media reported about difficult labour conditions in the company.
