Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The European Labour Authority (ELA), whose new headquarters are located in the Slovak capital Bratislava, has begun recruiting for employees. ELA is an EU agency that aims at enforcing EU norms on labour mobility and that is part of the European Pillar of Social Rights. The authority is planned to reach full operational capacity with 140 employees by 2024 and it has recently advertised offers for six positions. According to the Slovak Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, the first 26 employees are expected to be in office by 1 October 2019 and some of them will relocate from Brussels.
