Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American engineering company CH2M has announced that it will create 500 new jobs at its Global Design Centre in Kraków, Poland, up to 2021. About 275 employees will be recruited in 2019, 215 in 2020, and 10 in 2021. The company received a grant of PLN 2.58 million (€598,634) from the Polish government which will allow to develop the design and engineering centre in Kraków. CH2M provides consulting, design, construction and operation services for corporations, state and local governments. It specialises in industrial, waste water management, transport infrastructure, energy and environmental engineering projects.The Kraków centre currently employs nearly 1,000 people.
A previous business expansion took place in February 2019 (200 new jobs); this event was also associated with a governmental grant worth PLN 40million (€9.23million).
