Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Commercial Court of Rennes validated Little extra's offer to take over the brand 'Du Bruit dans la Cuisine', which was put into receivership at the end of January. Only 19 stores out of 34 will be kept. Dismissal will affect 141 employees (out of 260), including about 20 at the company's head office in Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande. Difficulties encountered by the brand, according to a former manager, include a change in consumption patterns (less people using shopping centres and an increase in rents required by shopping centre owners), and the movement of 'yellow vests', which reduced sales volumes at the end of 2018.
