Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Global management consulting and professional services company Accenture inaugurated a new centre for advanced technologies in the maritime station of Alicante. The centre employs 80 people and plans to create between 250 and 300 new job positions during the next months.
The centre studies future-growing technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, blockchain, Internet of Things, Augmented Reality and Quantum Computing. The company signed as well agreements with vocational training institutions to prepare faculty in teaching students that might contribute to the centre. The plan is part of the launch of the Digital District in Alicante, promoted by the Thematic Projects of the Valencian Government.
