Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Vaping firm VPZ, based in Edinburgh, announced plans to create 1,000 new jobs across 200 new retail outlets. The company already has 125 stores across the country and this expansion is planned to expand its presence in Wales and the South East. The company has said that the increased demand for alternatives to traditional tobacco products will support these plans for new stores. The job positions are not limited to retail roles, but cover as well roles in the company's manufacturing and finance departments. It is expected that the process will take three years to complete.
