Description
Spanish energy company Iberdrola plans to create 150 new jobs in Ireland by the end of 2019. About 100 of the projected new roles are in sales, with 40 in services based in Sligo, and another 10 based in the company's Dublin office. The jobs expansion is to support the company's €100 million investment drive to operate in the Irish energy retail market. Iberdrola has had a presence in Ireland for two decades, through its UK business, ScottishPower, which owns wind farms in Ireland. The initial retail offering is in electricity only, but the company plans to move into selling gas later in 2019.
