Description
The German manufacturer of household appliances Vorwerk confirmed that it will cease the production of its thermal mixer at its plant in Wuppertal by the end of 2019, which will result in the loss of 200 jobs. Vorwerk is facing a decreasing demand in Europe and believes that the Asian market has greater growth potential. Therefore, Vorwerk plans to build up a new thermal mixer production site in China. Management expects a maximum of 85 compulsory redundancies. The remaining cuts will be completed by natural fluctuation and early-retirement programmes.
Vorwerk has approximately 13,000 employees worldwide.
