Description
The German automotive supplier Continental will be closing its plant in Oppenweiler, which will result in the loss of 340 jobs. According to management, the plant has not been profitable for the past six years. All attempts to counteract this trend have been unsuccessful. Furthermore, projections for the upcoming years are expecting a significant decline in sales. Works council and management have already started negotiations on a social plan for all employees. A timeframe for the closure has yet to be published.
