Description
DAF, a Dutch truck manufacturing company, is lowering their truck production for the third time this year. Starting on the first of July, the production of trucks will decrease from 220 to 200 trucks each day. As a consequence 150 agency workers are no longer going to be employed by DAF in Eindhoven and 135 in Oevel.
DAF states that the production decline is due to the economic uncertainty in Europe, which causes transport operators to delay the purchase of new trucks.
DAF produces trucks in Eindhoven and in Leyland in the UK, while the factory in Oevel / Westerlo makes axles and cabins.
