Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The American group Schreiber Foods has announced the recruitment of 110 employees at its new production unit built near the existing workshops in Cléry-le-Petit which employ 220 people. The new unit, inaugurated on 14 June, produces yoghurts, fresh cheeses and dairy desserts. The food group has invested €85 million in four production lines and 10,000 m² of buildings. The product input will be insured by 90 farmers who are based in a range within 150 km from the factory.
The dairy processing site will supply the 1,600 Système U stores in France with private labels as part of an exclusive commercial partnership signed with the cooperative brand. In 2016, Schreiber Foods has acquired the Cléry-le-Petit cheese dairy from the French group Bel.
