Rolls-Royce has announced plans to make further reductions at its site in Barnoldswick, Lancashire. According to reports, 102 jobs will be lost from the staff of 890. The site which manufactures parts for the firm's civil aerospace arm reduced its headcount by 60 staff at the start of 2019. Consultation with trade unions has reportedly already begun, though there is no indication as yet as to when the job losses are expected to take effect. Local politicians have expressed concern at the latest announcement for both the employees affected and the wider local economy.
