Description
Don & Low, a manufacturer or textiles based in Forfar has announced plans to cut 55 jobs. The site manufactures backing for carpets and employs 500 staff at the site. Staff have been informed of the plans and collective consultation is due to begin shortly with the Unite trade union. The company has blamed the change in consumer tastes as a major reason for the redundancies; hard floors are ever more popular compared with carpets. The timeframe for the redundancies has not yet been reported.
