Description

Discount supermarket chain Lidl has announced plans to create 1,500 new jobs as part of a major new GBP 500 million (€558.55 million) investment which will see 40 new stores open across London over the coming five year period. The announcement includes plans to open stores in the centre of London, though it currently has 88 stores across the Greater London area. The move into the central areas in London is being seen as a direct challenge to the chain's more expensive rivals.
