Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The Danish auction house Kopenhagen Fur announced on 29 April 2019 that between 130 and 150 employees will be dismissed in the near future. The CEO announced that the company will, before the summer, modify the setup of the company to the reduction in the amount of skin which has been expected this year and next year. The redundancies are a consequence of the demand's fall.
Kopenhagen Fur is a joint owned auction house for the industry that sells skin and fur. According to the owner, despite redundancies and cuts, Kopenhagen Fur is still the largest company in the global fur industry.
