Description
The Commercial Court of Lyon has approved the takeover by the British Liberty House of the Saint-Jean Industries aluminium foundry at Ingrandes-sur-Vienne. At the same time, the Commercial court of Poitiers did the same with the cast iron foundry also at Ingrandes-sur-Vienne. Liberty House therefore became the owner of Saint-Jean Industries Poitou and the Fonderie du Poitou Fonte. The buyback is sheduled on 2 May. These decisions pave the way for an Employment safeguard plan which, if validated next week, should make it possible to safeguard 623 jobs out of the 732 permanent jobs at the two sites. For FP fonte, Liberty House proposes to take over 328 employees out of a current workforce of 401 employees, with 73 positions subject to a voluntary departure plan. For FP alu, 295 jobs out of the current 331 in the plant would be safeguarded.
