The contact lens manufacturer, Johnson & Johnson is creating 100 new manufacturing jobs at its plant in Co Limerick. The company is investing €100 million into its manufacturing facility, supported by IDA Ireland. The expansion will also create 200 temporary construction jobs, in the building of a new facility. The plant leader claimed that the new manufacturing roles will be essential in assisting the company bring pioneering contact lens products.
Johnson & Johnson employs 900 people in Limerick. The Limerick site is the largest contact lens manufacturing plant in the world.
