Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
The French retail chain Castorama, specialised in building materials, has announced the creation of 145 jobs at its new store in Elbląg. The store, which has an area of 11,200 m2, is expected to be opened on 3rd of April 2019.
The company has been operating in Poland since 1994; it has over 75 stores and employs almost 12,000 people across Poland. Castorama Poland is a part of the multinational company Kingfisher which has about 1,200 stores in 10 European countries. In 2018, the company announced two restructuring programmes: in April (300 new jobs) and July (125 new jobs).
