Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Lithuanian retailer Maxima LT is to create 100 new jobs in Vilnius in April 2019. The company is opening a store after renovation located in Vilnius shopping and entertainment centre Akropolis. This store will be the largest one in Lithuania; it will operate under the name Maxima XXXX. Around 100 new jobs will be created in the Maxima XXXX store; in total, it will employ 390 employees. The store is planned to open on 11 April 2019.
Currently Maxima LT owns 244 retail chains in Lithuania which employ 14,681 people. Maxima Group is the owner of the retail chains Maxima (in the Baltic countries), Aldik (in Poland) and T-Market (in Bulgaria), and of the Barbora e-grocery business operating in Lithuania and Latvia.
