Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
GMD Cast, a subsidiary of France-based GMD Group, launched a new, highly automated aluminium casting plant in Dorog. While the construction of the building itself is completed and the production has been officially launched, the manufacturing lines and the casting facilities are to join in the production process during the year in a continuous manner. Full capacity is expected to be reached by the end of this year. In total, the plant will bring 240 new jobs, mainly for highly qualified professionals and technicians.
The new production unit is the largest within the casting branch of the GMD Group, and it is also the group’s most modern European casting facility.
In the new plant, aluminium auto parts will be produced. Among others, the Hungarian production facility of the PSA Groups will be supplied by the GMD unit. The investment cost is €47 million, roughly €9 million of which was provided by the state. The investment was supported because the government and focuses on developing the auto industry supplier network.
