Description

Czech state-owned postal company Česká pošta (Czech Post) is to reduce the number of employees in managerial and administrative positions by 15% during 2019, which translates to about 150 people. The reason is to save up to CZK 120 million (€4.6 million) a year.

Czech Post plans to increase employees’ wages by 10% from April 2019. The current average wage of state postal employees is around CZK 24,900 (€970), more than CZK 7,000 (€272) lower than the national average wage (about CZK 32,000 or € 1,246). As of March 2019, the company employs over 30,000 people.
