Description
Finnish meat producer Atria has announced plans to cut 51 jobs. The jobs will be cut at Atria's pig cutting plant in Nurmo, where 380 people are employed. The number of redundancies is slightly lower than originally expected due to the negotiations that took place between the administration and the workers’ representatives.
According to Atria, the reorganisation is due to lower pork demand in Finland. With annual cost savings of €1.5 million, the company is looking to improve the profitability and competitiveness of the Nurmo plant.
