Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
French multinational company Thales has announced plans to create 190 new positions for software engineers by the end of 2019. A spokesperson for the company stated that by the end of 2021 they plan to exceed 1,000 employees in Romania.
As of March 2019, Thales, which manufactures electrical systems and provides services for the aerospace, defence, transportation and security market, has 300 employees in Romania. The company established its first Software Research and Development Centre in Bucharest, in 2009. Globally, Thales Group, headquartered in Paris, employs about 64,000 people and operates in 56 countries. In 2018, the company created 5,000 positions worldwide.
