Lidl, the German supermarket chain, has announced plans to create 130 new positions in Spain. The business has invested a total of €36 million to open five new stores, located in Barcelona, Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona), Torrent (Valencia), Getafe (Madrid) and Azkoitia (Guipúzcoa).
As of February 2019, Lidl has more than 9,000 employees and 535 supermarkets in Spain, in addition to ten logistics centres spread throughout the country. A previous restructuring took place in 2015, when 400 jobs were created.
