Logistics company XPO is poised to close its warehouse in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire which will result in the loss of 300 jobs. The company operates the site for House of Fraser, which itself has been taken over following its collapse into administration. Trade union USDAW has confirmed that it is entering into consultation with the company over the proposed closure, and that it will also be speaking to other local employers who recognise the union to explore possibilities of employment in these companies. The XPO site is due to close on 10 April 2019.
