The car manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroën has announced the closure of its Hérimoncourt site, which employs around 200 people. The activity of the plant, located near Sochaux, is the recycling of parts which will be transferred to the Vesoul site (Haute-Saône), located 80 kilometres away. Employees may leave the group under the voluntary redundancy plan or be offered training and/or internal redeployment solutions. The manufacturer has a production site at Sochaux, which is located a few kilometres away, as well as in Mulhouse, about 30 kilometres away. The group intends to invest in the circular economy: it has initiated discussions with employee representatives and local authorities representatives to ensure the revitalisation of the site that will be closed.
